Moliat Empty Vire River artillery carnage

Post by Moliat Sat Feb 12, 2011 6:23 pm

This game consisted of Max and Abahab on the allied side versus Activated and me as the axis. Double US vs double Wehr. Needless to say for a map with such natural chokepoints, it became a stalemate which the Wehrmacht are destined to win in the long run due to veterancy.

As Max put it: "This game highlighted the most gay aspects of both sides". There were a ton of tanks, flaks, howitzers, emplacements, you name it. Carnage was bound to happen, especially when you have 6 grenadier squads being pinned by a strafing run and then an artillery strike is called in on them.

Haha, it was indeed a hectic game, and I still giggle at the thought that the computer did a better job than my teammate.

Well watched the replay and the other 2 games. The one thing that sticks out the most to me is my utter lack of unit preservation. It's like "hey Savage can you lose any more units". Please any productive criticism is welcome as this really seems to be a huge problem in my game play. Props to my partner he was the reason we won.

Pay close attention to the pop-ops on the left side of your screen, especially the red ones, as they will warn you any time your units are taking damage.

Try to keep looking at the mini map, so you know where all your units are. If a warning pops up on the top left corner press "space bar" it will take you there immediately. If you are out numbered and have no hope of winning e.g. 1 Airborne against Grenadier blob just retreat don't bother fighting.

Moliat Empty Rated 1v1 Brens and mandos

Post by Moliat Tue Mar 15, 2011 10:26 am

This game changed my ranked 1v1 level by a factor of one. I won't spoil anything by saying which direction.

    Notes to self while playing:

    • Brens are gay
    • Commandos are OP
    • Brens are still gay
    • Stuh > Blob (it got like 30 kills)
    • Brens will always be gay

That was too way too close! Dual Brens indeed pushed you off the map at one point. Lucky there was no bren in bren base rape or any roos.

The way you annihilated the second commando squad at the east VP with stun grenades and flammenwehrfers was just epic:)

    1v1 skirmish 1

British comeback with kangaroos, creeping barrage, babyeaters, carebear murderers and all that is evil in the world.

How the hell could he win after I had his base in my hands?!

I don't know what to say man. You fought well and so did pike. You probably would have won if you took out the mortar pit. The ability to shoot through those trucks is just unfortunate...

I did notice a roo that only got a damaged engine from running over a mine and not losing any HP. That was weird.

Okay, to be honest using roos in a friendly match isn't really what I consider sportmanship Neutral
At the 10-minute mark you were floating fuel and had plenty of mp. I think that if you would have bought some vetted grens with shrecks and flamepio's, instead of those wasted MG's, you could have finished him off in like 13 minutes.

Also, another smart thing to do on this map is place mines on the road where his called in vehicles and trucks emerge. When they arrive, they will instantly be down a third of their health, and if you have some shrecked grenadiers nearby, you can cripple a brit player easily in 15 minutes.

Good points, although I wanted to keep at least one mg up to keep his squads suppressed.

As for the roos; as much as I hate them, they are part of the game and I don't have any hard feelings for Pike using them. In the end he won fair and square, although it annoyed me to no end that the mortar pit survived after all that punishment. If it hadn't, I would have won.
