So to start of just a simple question: Is the add on worth 800 Space Credits? (MS points)
Simple answer: Yes it really is.
What does the add on feature?
The add on features 8 new single player missions which are highly fun. They range from infiltrating a Mansion in Ferrera (town in Spain) to trying to reclaim a stolen painting on a ship which is set to leave for Firenze (Florence) while remaining undetected. So there is something here for everyone.
It also features a new game to play in single player called " Hazard ". This is a dice game where you, guess what! ROLL 2 DICES WOOOOO. It's simple you bet your amount and start rolling. You begin with a winning number and a losing number. If you roll the winning number on your first throw you win whats in the pot. If you roll the losing number well you lose what else?
If you don't roll the winning or losing number you will automatically roll the "chance" number, then the game will lose the winning and losing number and instead put in a winning chance number and a losing chance number. You keep rolling until you either win or lose. Every time you roll the bet is increased. This can often lead up to hundreds of thousands of florins ending up in the pot. So if you win it's satisfying if you lose well not so much.
There is also some very interesting puzzle work to be done but I will not spoil this.
Moving on to Multiplayer.
Multiplayer has been expanded significantly adding one more map playable in daylight and night time. This changes up how you will play hugely and have often a significant impact on your performance making this very varied and ultimately fun.
Four new Multiplayer Characters have been added going by the names of:
1. Madame Rossa - A good looking woman who kills people with a hairpin. She features fun and good looking kill moves which are swift and satisfying but not always brutal.
2. Pariah - He may remind you of the guy who his hunted by Ezio in the AC2 Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVWhWsgHzKM
He's the guy with the mask who get's shot near the end.
Pariah features a small pistol he will kill his targets with. These kill moves are very nice and exciting and give a sense of professionalism to the player as well as satisfaction
3. The Knight - By far my favorite new Character. He's a big muscular looking guy in full Knights Armor. (basically a bad ass look) He uses a big sword to kill his targets with and his kill moves are swift brutal and satisfying. This character gives the player the sense of domination over other players.
4. Marqous - This guy uses a sword to kill his opponents. His kill moves look very nice they are swift and professional.
People who have not pre ordered AC Brotherhood and did not get the Harlequin character need not worry, downloading the DLC will unlock this character for you as well.
Achievements: The game features as far as I can remember 10 "new" achievements. But only 3 have to do with the down-loadable content. The other 7 achievements could have been in the full version of the game but were obviously not thought of so they just chucked them into the DLC.
New MP Game Modes: The DLC features 2 new MP games modes. Assassination and Escort.
Assassination is a game mode like free for all. You have no specific target but just anyone you find. But the trick is you have to know which one you have to kill. The compass has been downgraded and you now only get a basic idea of where your target is : he might be behind you and kill you if you don't watch out
Running in this game mode is strictly taboo as you will just give yourself away like nothing else. Like a black blob of color on a white sheet
Escort is a game mode where there are 2 NPC controlled VIP targets. The Hunters job is to hunt them, hunters can only stun protectors. Hunters get a compass and the location of the checkpoint where the VIP is moving to, this would help in setting up an ambush.
Protectors do not get a compass but have to seek out the hunters by themselves. Protectors can kill the hunters. Their job is it like the title of the game mode to protect the VIP at all costs.
Verdict: 9/10
A solid DLC with just one or two minor issues which don't affect the game play in a way.
It's just simple things like achievements they could have put in the full version. I hoped for more than just 3 DLC related achievements. Or some new Weapons. Other than that a very solid DLC which in my eyes should have been more than 800 Space Credits...
Enjoy the DLC
