Dead Space 2

Hey gents,

We've got dead space 2 coming up on Jan. 25th (at least in the states) and I know there's a new multi-player component to it. From reading up on it, its going to be in the same vein as Left 4 Dead 2, where one team plays a 4 man human security team, and the other side plays the Necromorphs. (If you haven't played the first dead space, just know that they're freaking horrifying.)

Anywho, I've got this sucker pre ordered already. Anyone else thinking about getting it? I'd love to dismember some alien scum with you guys.

Haha not as much as before. I'm about done with the single player campaign, and the multi-player is still awesome.

It's still way to expensive for me to pick up. I don't think I've seen one second hand copy at work yet.

I have played a little of the demo and just under half way of the first, one day I may buy deadspace 2 but not until i finish 1.

And yeah I did see a vid showing their Dead 4 space game mode, looked cool.

Are you playing the multiplayer at all?

And yeah if you pick up DS2 let me know.

Does DS2 come out later this month, or has it been released already. I literally just picked up DS1 on a big Steam sale, and so far its been crazy fun.

DS2 comes out in the states on Jan. 25th. And yeah the first one eclipsed Resident Evil as the scariest, most intense game I've ever played. Freaking awesome in every regard. You should download the DS2 demo from XBL. Its freaking epic.

Amen. Just don't do what I did and play in a dark house by yourself to get the 'full experience', thinking it'll be 'fun'. That night ended up with my guns sitting within arms reach.

Iam 18 soon (24th jan) and I might think about getting DS1 and DS2 DS1 is less than 2 quid here so thats allright.
I usually dont like horror games but I think DS will be a really good experience I played the demo and got freaked out at the part where you walk into the corridor and suddenly all these twitching bodys appear in the test tube type things. I jumped from my chair took 5 steps away from the TV and my heart was going like a machinegun but nevertheless I reckon i still really want to give it a go even if it takes me 5 yrs to play through both of them lol

I've been avoiding horror games like Dead Space 2 ever since I played Half Life 2 when it first came out. I was 14 at the time and playing it with a friend on the beat of midnight. He went to the bathroom, and literally 2 seconds after the old clock in the house hit 12 and made a hell of a noise, I was jumped by a dozen zombies while at the same time my friend, who had sat back down right behind me without me noticing, scratched the perimeter of his eye and made a hell of a nasty sound. In combination this scared the hell out of me.

Imagine playing DS2 in the dead of the night alone in a dark house with headphones on not knowing whether such terrifying creature is lurking behind you and you cant hear it because you have headphones on and when you look over your shoulder................................

I think I'm also responsible for the scariest moment of a friend of mine's life. We were at his cabin and partying, and we were just getting tipsy. It was an old wooden cabin far into no-man's-land. The toilet is in a shed about 20m from the main cabin, and the small open clearing in between is occupied by two, huge trees and a thick, dense forest surrounding it. I went to take a leak and was fumbling my way back when I turned around (towards the shed) and saw someone in a white sweater sprinting towards me, it was the only reason I had any faint chance of seeing him (he couldn't see me as I wore all dark clothes. Later I found out he was running like a maniac because he was freezing, but I thought he was going to try and scare me, so when he were really close to me I screamed "Should I kill you?!" with the deepest voice I can manage. His scream echoed in my ears for a couple of minutes, and when I found him inside he was sitting in a chair in the middle of the party, grasping the sides of it and staring into the air, shaking heavily.
