    Important Question Empty Important Question

Post by Furtz Mon Mar 14, 2011 12:16 am

I think it is clear that pretty much everyone here is going to buy Battlefield 3.
The question is will DFA stay a Battlefield Bad Company 2 Clan or will it convert to a Battlefield 3 Clan? Or perhaps will it support both games?

I myself am interested about this. Smile

I suspect that we will be involved in both, to the extent that our members play them. I mean, if everyone is eventually playing Battlefield 3, then that will be that, won't it?

On the other hand, I think many of us thought that we would all be playing Vietnam a helleva lot more than any of us do, and look what happened there; although I doubt that will be the case with Battlefield 3.

I think it's only natural for us to cover BF3 as well. It's the next step on the Battlefield ladder, and we're following the development.

We'll be covering both games, probably both the xbox and pc as well.

We'll all have both games, but we'll just have to see how it turns out. I'm confident it will only get better, but perhaps there will be certain things that change that some members dislike or prefer, leaving them to choose one or the other.

If BC3 is the next best thing since sliced break and breast milk ice cream, then I'll be playing it.

On a more clan specific note, I think we might lose some people to the PC version because it'll have larger matches and JETS. DFA will hopefully have some new toys to reign down terror with from above both on the Xbox360 and PC.

On the contrary, I believe our member count will increase from expanding to the PC platform. GameReplays is very familiar with DFA, and there are many people, both staff members, higher-tier players and low level ones alike, that have regretted playing on the PC as it makes them unable to join DFA.

We're already covering the PC with CoH, and I think we'll cover both the Xbox and PC with BF3, as some people will simply prefer BF3 on the computer. I for one am not bringing my xbox my first year of college, so I will be getting it on the PC. If at all.

True, true, true. A clans a clan, and tactics are tactics. Including a PC base would open up our clan, free up members to try both systems, and would only give us more input into tactics and strategies. Long live DFA!

So if I understand this right, we're going to open the clan up to people who only have the game on PC?

I believe so, but haven't we already done that with COH members?

From what I've read, the xbox won't have jets, just the pc, but I don't think its confirmed yet.

When BF3 launches, we're probably (?) opening up for people who only have BF3 on the PC as well, since we will be on both PC and Xbox anyways. It's far ahead, though.

I wouldn't rule it out. It's already been confirmed that consoles will have a player cap of 24 people just like BC2, where PC will have 64. Maps have to be HUGE to have jets. I really really really hope I'm wrong, but DICE has said already that they're making this game for PC first and consoles second, so don't be shocked if jets are absent on consoles.

I don't get the point why they make a difference AT ALL between console and PC .. it's the same freaking game, only the controls are different ..

Yeah, but the consoles can't handle as much as a (loaded up) PC can, so you can do things on the PC that you can't with the consoles (such as having 64 players on at a time...)

I can tell you though, 64 players sounds fun, but really is not that much fun lol. BF2 Strike at Karkand was probably the best on 64, but maps like Road to Jalalabad and Mashtuur City and Sharqi Peninsula were horrid with 64. I always played 32. (which console should be able to support in my opinion)

Yeah 64 was too much for me. I'd like consoles to support 32, but I'll be happy with 24 for the time being.

Though BFBC2 is 24 players, maps like Heavy Metal go swell .. if they upgrade to 32 man jets can easily fit in
