    Hardcore mode? Empty Hardcore mode?

    Post by kakkura49 Sat Dec 04, 2010 10:31 am

Well, I've been wondering something. I play on HCmode all the time. But when I am called into
play with you fellas, You're playing normal mode. No biggy, I can still play, Just not as
good as I usually would. so with that, I was wondering why it is you choose normal mode?
And if it's nothing major, perhaps we can have an occasional HC match?

I'm addicted to motion sensors. If I can't have them I start suffering from crippling paranoia. :P

Crippling Paranoia is one of the best elements of Hardcore mode....

It's all quiet... nobody knows where the enemy is.... everyone's afraid to stick their head out to look because of sniper fire....

Then you hear.... did you hear?.... Wait! There it is.... footsteps.... around the corner... someone's coming...

    AAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! <Machine-gun fire, screams, explosions>

.... ahhh..... boy, is my heart ever POUNDING.... the adrenaline.....

By the way, in case you didn't notice, you get more points on Hardcore.... (not that it's about the points, of course...)

Im sure hardcore was introduced entirely to steal the cod community. I'd rather play standard, same as max. It kills tools they introduced into battlefield.

I'm not a huge fan of hardcore simple due to all the snipers, but it's not like we don't allow people to play it. As long as everyone online at the time want to play hardcore, go right ahead. Just keep in mind that, in general, we are a normal-mode clan, so it is best practicing most at that Smile

I did that on purpose, to separate the comments from each other. Would you rather I didn't?

Needing some clarification here... By 'triple posted' do you mean that I have the 3 different posts or that I have the same post 3 times (and if so I don't see it...)

Technically it means you've posted the same post three times, which obviously is not the case. Crush stop messing with his brains! You did however post three successive posts, which is somewhat unnecessary. What Crush means is that it's better to post everything in the same post rather than posting three times in a row Smile

I love playing hardcore mode to unlock weapons for classes I don't usually use but as a medic I fail and reviving fallen team mates vs regular because of the radar signal

That's a good point. Sometimes I just spend forever trying to locate the body of the fallen teammate since there is no minimap or on-screen heartbeat symbol.

    pressing start brings up the map. so you can see the heartbeat symbol for medics and the tags of enemies for Recon. thats what I do. so the radar is never an issue for me. {same goes for spotting enemies, press back button on an enemy, and they are visible when you press start}

Somewhat impractical to have to access the menu in order to check the map though. I always pay attention to the minimap in my side-vision, and quite honestly prefer it that way.

dunno. I've always preferred it due to realism. and it is incredible practice for instinctive fighting. you have to e aware of your surroundings at all times Smile

I like to do hardcore just for the sheer fun of it, not so much the realism. I think it makes the game much more tactical, especially on a game of Hardcore Squad Rush. It really makes you think twice before you run forward at the m-com like a headless chicken. I will say that I will always prefer the base damage in a non-hardcore mode more, I think that the damage really helps build up strategies in games. In fact I actually think that playing practice matches against each other might be better in a Squad vs. Squad hardcore setting. It will really help build up teamwork and will teach people the hard way what cover really is XD
