Ever shoot an AK? It's a bit more than a .22.

I stand corrected regarding recoil...however- still way too accurate. With the difficult rear-front sighting alignment- shouldnt be this easy to hit targets

My apologies, I seem to have sparked some kind of argument. Clearly my sarcasm wasn't well communicated. lol.

My comment was merely meant to remark on how ridiculous it is to imply that real life weapons handling has anything to do with how a game should be. Games should be about balance much more so than staying true to a weapons actual handling characteristics. Smile

    Umm.... 5.56mm (M16) is the same as .22 calibre... ( .22 inches)

As far as bullet diameter, yes it is. However, the bullet weight (grain) is vastly different. Which is why the .22 long rifle has a muzzle velocity of barely over 1,000 fps, and the 5.56mm is in the neighborhood of 3,000, along with the ability to still have wounding effects on a target at 1000m. You'll do little more than piss someone off with a .22 past 200m.

But anywho, because of the different weights and powder loads, there is actually quite a bit more recoil when firing a .223 or a 5.56 than when firing its little .22 cousin. Smile
