I've had a couple of really good rounds with the Huey. You can't just fly it like the Blackhawk or Apache. It is so light and nimble that the trick to it I think is to pop in and out of the trees (while still moving really fast, not puttering) instead of just staying above the canopy of the trees like we usually do in the other choppers.

Crush once commented on my 'weird' flying (this was in the Blackhawk) because I could cruise right low to the ground winding through the streets and buildings and trees popping up and down all over and not get shot down.

Well, I'm finding that method serving me well now when I get in the Huey. It works really good for jumping in there to drop off some guys and jumping out again to retreat and repair. It's smaller and lighter and can fit in tight spaces and hide quicker behind smaller cover.

Also, the balance is that it spawns really fast... And if you can get two....

my first imression today was a disapointment ..
played all eve but I like the 'old' BC2 more ..
I bought it in the hope that I had to unlock new stuff again, seems like you get everything right at start, wich was my biggest dissapointment, next to that there aren't really a lot of weapons for each kit to use, wich is to bad, but I understand since they didn't have a huge weapon arsenal like these days

I like them both, for different reasons.

To me, they are simply different forms of Warfare. I even found that to be the case with the latest Vanilla Maps. It's refreshing to have to unravel the strategies anew with different terrain and environments and tools at hand.

I really like the use of the uneven terrain and tunnels and birms and so forth to fire over/around; feels like trench warfare at times.

The DLC is exactly what I expected with a few bugs here and there, but completely workable. The Huey still remains as a small problem, but after a well played game with the guys earlier today we managed to keep our bird up and about for the entire game! Not to mention the fact that close to the end of the game we managed to get our second bird in the sky. God it was thrilling! We had the radio going Bam bam dadada bam bam dadada da! Lol! It was totally kick ass. Can't wait to see you guys out in the battlefield. Remember folks SPOT! SPOT! SPOT!

I think they focused more on the visuals in this expansion, the laoding screens, the win/loss cinema's, radio's are awsome! but I was hoping to have a new unlock system

Unlocking is frustrating and makes for an uneven playing field imo.

Getting owned because you don't have the right weapon to suit the circumstance isn't fun. :P

I must agree with Crush, when ur in a fire fight the best class to have is the medic, as that class has 200 shots to spray, and we all know it doesn't take too many bullets to kill someone

Well I disagree, MOST weapons are balanced out, some weapons may deal crappy damage, but the fire rate is higher, others deal high damage with low fire rate, others medium - medium .. (i said most)
Most people play bc2 for a while now, and know how to aim, shoot so doesn't matter if you need to unlock new stuff, next to that, when unlocking, we ALL need to unlock, so you won't be the only one with 'crappy' weapons right?

Unlocks makes you wanna play for something, have a goal

I enjoy it but most of the maps seem to have alot of chokepoints which makes it a bit frustrating and I usually have to mute my mic and cuss a bit ak47 is nice though...wish it was in normal bc2 Razz

I think they're going for more of that trench-warfare or hiding-behind-a-hill/rock-on-the-front-line kind of feel to it, so the choke points create those situations a lot.

Well, I was going to give an excuse about not yet knowing the maps like the back of our hands... but then again, I suppose our 'superior tactical ability' should have us winning regardless...

Why do you think I got pissed when we lost our first game in 3 months? :P

New maps is no excuse, the maps are new to everyone, even for the "merry gang of random retards" on the server. I say it's because we have so many new faces that haven't had time to get used to how we run things, and haven't really been drilled in our tactics yet.

Yes, I think this is it. When I very very very first played (about 2 min after it was released) with Kazo (of all people - thank God) and a couple other 'old timers' (was it Hazey maybe? and Kernel? Not sure...) we DID kick absolute ass just by doing what we always do.

Haven't really seen that lately though....

When we put together older members you'll see them kick ass even if all communications are down, seeing as they all know our tactics and how we play together inside-out. We just need to be more efficient in translating it over to new members as well.

Yes, and some of that is just osmosis and takes some time, so everybody try to be patient with the newbies...

I love Vietnam I'm a huge fan of older wars like Vietnam, WW2 and the Gulf war. Those settings are great for games. I think that the maps are amazing and the guns are great. The chopper is a huge fail though.

Which is the primary reason why I am disappointed in BFBC2:V. In the original DFA clan for Battlefield Vietnam (2004 PC original game), I was the clan pilot, and the Huey was my weapon. Now the Huey feels like flying a rubber-band run paper plane loaded with bursts of bad intentions controlled by the pilot.

The Huey was a MASSIVE disappointment that is one of many reasons why I've pretty much stopped playing Vietnam. I'll play with you guys if I see you on, but other than that I'm over it. The lack of weapons, optics, good maps, etc. Really limit your play style, customization options, etc. I've gone back to vanilla, which is still awesome.
