Hardcore not for me!
In my opinion there is no incentive points wise in playing,ok 2-3 shotd can kill on both Vietnam and bad Company 2 but you dont get extra points. If dice were to re-evalaute these issues then i wold definatley be up for playing this mode.

The incentive is not for points. The incentive is simply for the type of game experience it is.

Hardcore can be very good. In terms of tactical play its way more omportant. Its more of a challenge. Obviously its only the type of play that changes with the same benefits of standard play. I would say that playing on hardcore can only make you a better player overall.

Re: Hardcore not for me!
It can also screw up your overall skill set for non hardcore by making you play different e.g removing Motion Sensors from your normal use and changing your burst firing patterns.

Good point. Sort of. Emphasis is on "can" make you change your patterns - something to watch for, for sure, but if you are aware of this you can make sure you don't fall into this trap.
Thanks for mentioning this though, Crush.

Re: Hardcore not for me!
Hey, hardcore is not for everyone, and that's fine.
One of the things I like about Vietnam is that it seems to fall between normal and hardcore mode in that you don't have to dump a million rounds into someone to kill them, yet there is still a Mini-Map and spotting, yet there are no Motion Mines so you can still sneak around some.

I'm waiting to get the nam add on should be next couple of days. I heard the shooting is different again. So do you think adapting to nam will have bad effects on normal bad company mp

A soldier learns to adapt to everything, nothing will be effected you will learn how to use what techniques you need in whatever circumstance arrives. You'll be fine, all you have to do is learn how to adapt quickly.

If your adapting to a situation you still need to be able to almost unknowingly use things like motion mines and etc. If your adapting quickly there is a high chance of inconsistency which would be caused by swapping between game modes. In saying that it should only take players 10 minutes to slip into a different game mode.
I just feel like hardcore was thrown in to try and steal some of the hardcore playing Call of Duty player base.
^Personal opinion, don't rage. :P

Re: Hardcore not for me!
To be honest I play the same way lol! In both gametypes, I just have to aim faster in Hardcore lol. Its not much of a change for me other than the fact that I can spot out targets for my squad with select. But then again my mic works just fine. "Far East on the rooftop to the right of Bravo! Arghhh!!!" ~Epic gun fire ending with a clonking noise confirming the headshot~ "Suck on that Charlie!" XP

Re: Hardcore not for me!
Hardcore is not for me, there're no extra points for the extra time being put in to search and destroy targets. In Vietnam you dont even need to play Hardcore because the damage limitations basically the same.
In all true a computer game should be about having not having a frustrating time searching and then not be rewarded for it in the end.

I agree, but without the benefits plus the frustration there is no balance , maybe that's something i will have to bring that up with Dice in one of the forums. I have played Hardcore recently, i crouched i searched i killed ,and then i thought to myself, what am i doing? Every time a target gets spotted i have to press start to see him on the map! CRAZY! Isn't enough that i press select to spot targets.

Re: Hardcore not for me!
The few times that I did play hardcore I still found myself hitting select. And if I remember, still got points for spotting even though they didn't show on screen.

Sorry i was clear enough, the fact that you have to see the selected opponent (enemy) that has been spotted by pressing start to bring up the map.

Re: Hardcore not for me!
Dont get me wrong the difficulty of having to watch your Aim so you don't hit friendlies as well as not having a map and of course only having to shoot some without emptying a whole Ammo clip, but there is not benefit of achieving an increased amount of points
