DUST 514

Right, I've been playing Eve Online for about 4 years now and lately, they have been telling us about an MMO/FPS Hybrid they are planning to release to consoles.

At this point I don't know if it will be a PS3 exclusive or available on both consoles. Originally, it was supposed to be for both.

From what I have seen, it is a very sci-fi shooter at the core (well it has to be, since it is supposed to be set in the Eve Online universe, which is currenty somewhere around the year 60100).

I've always been a Sci-Fi nut, so it definitely looks interesting to me. It is also supposed to be a whole new game and all, with a unique tie to Eve Online, in that players who play DUST can 'interact' with Eve Online players and fight for them (that's about all I heard so far).

There is also some gameplay footage but it seems to be alpha and is not really worth watching as all they talk about is what they are doing there and nothing about what is actually planned/possible.

Im something of an Eve Online fan, infact I have a toon thats about 7-8 years old now, and although I do not play anymore, I still really like the game.

As such the first video clip looks pretty cool, the second however doesn't look like anything special.

Probably subscription fees sp a no from me. Which sucks because I do like the idea.

However there is a game called FROM DUST that I believe everybody should check out.

Subscription fees are probably not gonna be more than 15€/$/GBP/whatever per month.
Possibly even less.

Eve Online itself costs 15€/account. I am playing 3 seperate ones atm but I buy the game time at a US retailer, where I save about 25% because of a pretty weak dollar atm.

You can play the game for free if you can make good (virtual) money, as the game allows you to purchase game time from other players for ingame currency.

From Dust looks really cool, kinda reminds me of Populous.
